US & Canada ground Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 aircraft

Effectively immediately, the United States and Canada have joined much of the world in opting to ground the Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 aircraft in light of the recent Ethiopian Airlines crash that occurred on the Max 8 model.

The grounding will remain in effect pending the review of the black boxes recovered from the Ethiopian flight.

Cain has generated reporting to determine travelers who are booked on these aircraft. We - along with the rest of the industry - are awaiting word from the 4 airlines that fly this aircraft in North America (United, American, Southwest and Air Canada) how they plan on supporting the exchange/reissue of new tickets on other aircraft models and if they will be assessing any additional costs for such.

This is a developing story and more information will be provided in the near future.
