Emirates Bans the Use of Power Banks On Board Aircrafts

Starting October 1st, 2025, Emirates is prohibiting the use of power banks (portable, rechargeable devices) on board.  Emirates travelers are still allowed to carry one power bank on board that is under 100 watt-hours, but it may not be used to charge other devices or be charged using the aircraft’s power source.

Additionally, power banks may not be placed in the overhead storage bin or in checked luggage. They must be placed in the seat pocket or in a bag under the seat in front of the traveler.

This policy change is in response to the increased risk of lithium battery incidents on board.
