Winter storm 'Quinn' expected to impact travel in Northeast March 7 & 8

Another winter storm - Quinn - is set to hit the northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions on Wednesday, March 7, and Thursday, March 8. The National Weather Service has begun issuing storm alerts for areas from northern Maine to northern Maryland, including the New York City and Boston metropolitan areas. Up to 30 cm (12 in) of snow is forecast for parts of northern New England. The storm is currently - as of March 6 - bringing blizzard conditions to the Midwest region.

Significant flight disruptions are to be anticipated at airports throughout the area, including in Boston (BOS), New York-Newark (JKF, LGA, EWR), Philadelphia (PHL), Providence (PVD), and Hartford (BDL). Rail and public transit disruptions as well as hazardous driving conditions are also to be anticipated. Large-scale power outages are likely
