Update: Weather Caused by Super Typhoon Ragasa and Tropical Storm Mitag may Impact Travel, September 19th - 26th

Super Typhoon Ragasa is expected to hit South China between September 23rd and 25th.  The following airports have announced suspensions in flights:

  • Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 24th
  • Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) from midnight on September 24th to midnight on September 25th
  • Macau International Airport (MFM) from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. on  September 24th
  • Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX)  from midnight on September 24th to 9 p.m. on September 24th

Separately, Tropical Storm Mitag is expected to hit southern China, including Hong Kong, between September 19th and 21st. 

Both are expected to cause heavy rainfall and strong winds. Travel may be disrupted during the storms.
