Upcoming Construction at EWR Will Impact Travel & Schedules

Written by Vermilion | Apr 10, 2014 4:31:39 PM

From April 1 to June 15, 2014, construction is scheduled to be completed on one of the main runaways at EWR. All airlines have been asked to make accommodations for these upgrades.

It is anticipated that the Ground Delay Programs (GDP) will be employed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This will likely affect some flights operating to and from EWR. Steps are being taken to limit cancellations and delays that may happen as result, but there is still the possibility of these occurrences.

Due to the construction, Newark's Airport AirTrain will also suspend service for 75 days starting May 1. Shuttle buses will provide service between terminals and airport parking lots and rental car areas during the shutdown. For more details on the AirTrain shutdown, please visit myfoxny.com
