United Airlines System Upgrade and Outage, February 4th
United Airlines plans to conduct a technology upgrade to its systems, resulting in a brief outage on February 4th from 1:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. CT. During this time, United has stated that the following services will be unavailable across all United direct channels (united.com and the United mobile app), agency channels (including those used by Cain Travel), and partner airlines:
- Reservations access through any system
- Flight check-in through united.com, the United mobile app, and/or at the airport
- Creating or modifying a reservation (issuing a new ticket/exchange)
- Purchases, including new tickets, seats, paying for checked bags, and other purchases
- MileagePlus access
- United Jetstream® amenities
Additionally, United stated that they "proactively adjusted flight schedules to minimize the number of customers affected and gave customers the opportunity to adjust their travel. United/United Express flights will not depart during the outage, but flights enroute prior to the upgrade time will land at their scheduled destination."
We appreciate your understanding and are available to assist any travelers impacted by schedule changes.
