United Airlines increases change fee penalties across the globe

United has increased the change and cancelation fees for most non-refundable tickets issued on or after May 15, 2013 for the markets indicated below:

From Carribbean / Central America / Mexico to US / Canada -  $200 (new) , $150 (previous)

From South America to US / Canada - $300 (new) , $250 (previous)

From US / Canada / Caribbean / Latin America / US Virgin Islands to Pacific - $300 (new) , $250 (previous)

From US to Atlantic - $300 (new) ; $250 (previous)

From Caribbean / Central America / Mexico / US Virgin Islands to Atlantic - $250-$300 (new) , $175-$250 (previous)

From South America to Atlantic - $300 (new) , $175-250 (previous)

These new change fees follow United's recent announcement of increasing the change fee penalty from $150 (previous) to $200 (new) on US domestic tickets and from $250 (previous) to $300 (new) on non-refundable tickets from the US to South American markets (we blogged this change on 4/23).
