The Biden administration has announced that it will lift the Covid-19 testing requirement for air travelers as of Sunday, June 12, at 12:01 a.m., according to a senior administration official. This rule required that all air passengers two years of age or older boarding a flight from a foreign country to the U.S. — no matter their vaccination status — were required to produce proof of a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 prior to entering the country.

According to the official, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will re-evaluate the decision in 90 days, at which point, the requirement for pre-departure testing could be reinstated if there are new concerns about another variant.
