The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has begun piloting a new program, One Stop Security (OSS), that allows some international travelers to skip the usual TSA and customs re-screenings.
With One Stop Security, passengers arriving on international flights can proceed directly to their connecting flight without clearing U.S. Customs, claiming and rechecking bags, and passing through TSA security again. By leveraging advanced technology, OSS is expected to streamline the travel experience and cut connection times by more than half.
American Airlines was the first airline to implement OSS during its July 18th flight from DFW to LHR. American stated that they have “plans to explore opportunities to expand” the service to additional flights and airports in the future. Meanwhile, a Delta Air Lines flight from London to Atlanta is scheduled to test the program on July 30.
