The Department of Homeland Security has again pushed back the enforcement of the Real ID Act an additional 2 years from May 2023 to May 2025.
The Real ID Act will require all travelers to present a Real ID compliant driver’s license (or other federally approved ID such as a passport or military ID) to board a domestic US flight.
The postponement is based on the impact Covid-19 and the backlog it has produced relative to the ability of DMVs to issue Real ID compliant driver’s licenses.
