New Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Requirement for Travel to Israel

As airlines reinstate their flights to Israel, travelers should be aware that an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) is now in effect. This requires all passport holders from visa-exempt countries, including the United States, to present an ETA-IL to enter Israel. The ETA-IL is a digital permission to travel to Israel and will be linked to passports electronically. Travelers are responsible for obtaining their own ETA-IL.

An ETA-IL costs 25 NIS ($6.81) and permits multiple journeys to Israel for stays of up to 90 days at a time. The ETA-IL will stay valid for up to 2 years, or until the current passport expires – whichever comes first. Travelers can apply here and receive a decision within 72 hours.

Israel is also implementing eVisas-B2 for travelers who require visa authorization. This online visa system is part of Israel’s effort to streamline its visa processes and provide a more accessible option for tourists and visitors from various countries.
