The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its Covid-19 guidance Friday, April 2nd stating the following:

  • Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19.
  • People who are fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized vaccine can travel safely within the United States:
    • Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to get tested before or after travel unless their destination requires it
    • Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to self-quarantine
  • For international travel, the agency says vaccinated people do not need to get a Covid-19 test before leaving, though some destinations may require it.

A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the last recommended vaccine dose. Vaccinated travelers still must abide by a CDC order issued in January requiring a negative Covid-19 test to board international flights to the United States.

Cain will continue to monitor the situation and notify clients as additional information is released. The full CDC guidelines are available HERE.
