from CNN:
A "potentially catastrophic" Hurricane Irma is roaring toward northeastern Caribbean islands as a Category 5 storm, the National Hurricane Center said, threatening to slam into Antigua, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico by Wednesday before possibly taking aim at the US mainland.
The storm's forecast track currently has it near or over Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Anguilla by late Tuesday or early Wednesday, and the British and US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Wednesday afternoon. Subsequently, computer models show the system possibly near the Dominican Republic, Haiti and the Turks and Caicos Islands on Thursday and Friday, and Cuba on Friday and Saturday -- and potentially turning north toward Florida by the weekend.Cain has generated reporting to determine who may be impacted by the storm's path across the Caribbean and will be reaching out to travelers who may be impacted. As the path of the storm becomes clearer relative to its impact on the US mainland, we will post another update.
