Hurricane Florence: American and Southwest Waivers

Based upon the possible landfall of Hurricane Florence this week, the airlines have begun to issue waivers for travelers in the Southeast US.  Cain Travel has already identified travelers who may be impacted and we are reaching out to those customers.

As new updates become available, we will publish that information on our client email list, our blog, and via social media.

Current Airline Waivers

American Airlines

Waiving flight change fees for tickets issued on/before September 10, 2018 for travel between  September 13 and September 16, 2018.  Modified travel is eligible between September 10 and September, 19, 2018.

Southwest Airlines

Dates: September 12 - September 16, 2018

Based upon weather forecasts, Southwest is anticipating impacts to its service schedule at the following airports:

  • Charleston (CHS)
  • Charlotte (CLT)
  • Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP)
  • Norfolk/Virginia Beach (ORF)
  • Raleigh/Durham (RDU)
  • Richmond (RIC)

Travelers holding reservations for those dates, may rebook in their original class of service, or travel standby within 14 days of their original travel date, between the original city pairs.
