The Federal Government has passed a bill to reopen the government through January. Flight cuts at 40 of the busiest U.S. airports were originally ordered to increase to 8% on November 13th and 10% on November 14th. However, the FAA has announced that the reductions will remain at 6% this week instead of rising as planned and will be lifted once it is safe to do so. Continued flight disruptions are expected in the coming days and weeks as airlines and airports adjust and recover.
To help minimize disruptions as the government reopens, we recommend the following:
Arrive early: Allow extra time at the airport, especially during peak hours. It's suggested to arrive at least 2–3 hours before domestic flights and 3–4 hours before international departures
Check TSA wait times: Visit the MyTSA App or your airport’s website for real-time security line updates
We are continuing to monitor the situation and will keep you informed of any significant developments. Cain agents are available to support travelers who may be impacted.
