In preparation for Hurricane Milton:

  • Tampa International Airport (TPA): Will be suspending operations starting at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday, October 8th, and will "reopen when safe to do so."
  • Hillsborough County: The three other public airports in the Tampa Bay region—the Peter O. Knight (TPF), Tampa Executive (VDF), and Plant City (KPCM) airports—will also be closed to the public during the same time frame as TPA.
  • St. Pete-Clearwater International (PIE): Will close "after the last flight departs Tuesday" and remain shut down until Thursday, October 10th.
  • Orlando International Airport (MCO): Commercial operations will halt at 8 a.m. ET Wednesday, October 9th. The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) said  that the airport will not be "closed to emergency/aid and relief flights and will remain open as necessary." Commercial flights will resume "as soon as possible based on damage," the GOAA added.
  • Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ): Will close at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, October 8th, and reopen once it is safe to do so.

Miami International Airport (MIA) plans to remain open but is "closely monitoring" Milton. Travelers are encouraged to confirm their flight status with their airline amid the storm.

Cain agents are available to support travelers who may be impacted by the hurricane.
