EU recommends reinstating travel restrictions on U.S. travelers

The European Union has reportedly recommended removing the United States from the 27-country bloc's 'safe list' of countries, signaling a move to reinstate travel restrictions barring non-essential travel from the U.S. and potentially imposing quarantine and testing on U.S. travelers arriving into the region.

The restrictions recommended by the EU are non-binding, allowing each EU member country to decide how they choose to move forward in terms of reinstating restrictions, quarantines, or testing.

This is a fluid situation, and which countries will or will not be following the EU’s recommendation will continue to develop over the coming days.
