Edinburgh to Become the First City in Scotland to Charge a Tourist Tax

Starting on July 24th, 2026, Edinburgh will be implementing its Transient Visitor Levy. This tourist tax is set at five percent of accommodation costs.  The fee will be capped at seven consecutive days for longer stays.
