CDC issues travel health notice due to Zika virus

The US Centers for Disease Control has announced a travel health notice due to the Zika virus which is spread to people through mosquito bites.   The illness is usually mild lasting from several days to a week.  However, the virus can cause significant health concerns for unborn babies.

The CDC recommends that pregnant women avoid travel to the following affected areas:

Caribbean
Central America
Mexico
Puerto Rico
South America

For pregnant women & their travel companions, some airlines have begun offering waivers to change travel plans to/from affected areas.   Please contact your Cain representative for more information.
