Cain Travel's Response to Flooding in Boulder

Written by Vermilion | Sep 13, 2013 2:51:17 PM

Over the past 3 days, the city of Boulder has been deluged with rain storms that have been estimated by the media to be 1000 year flooding.  During this time, Boulder has received approximately 12-14 inches of rain, which is close to our annual average precipitation.  Today, most major roadways into and out of Boulder are closed due to flooding, debris and road/bridge damage.  Continued rain is in the forecast for today and parts of tomorrow, and it is being reported that Boulder Creek has not yet reached peak levels.  The City of Boulder has encouraged all businesses to ask employees not to drive into the Boulder area.

In response to the situation, our team has activated an emergency plan that works to simultaneously protect our staff and support our customers at levels that they have come to expect.  All Cain Travel staff members are currently safe.  Our office is not located within the Boulder Creek 100 year flood plain, and as a result, we do not expect any flooding at our headquarters.  All systems are up and running smoothly at this time.

We have actively routed all inbound calls to our agent team that is geographically distributed across the country.  This action will ensure the most rapid call response possible, but it will bypass our reception desk.  All Cain Travel employees who are not able to make it into Boulder today are working remotely.

Forecasts indicate that this event should wind down by mid-day Saturday.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me, or feel free to reach out to your account manager.  As always, thank you very much for your business.
