American Airlines Announced Changes to AAdvantage Business Calendar

Beginning January 1, 2026, American Airlines will update the qualification period and earning rules for its AAdvantage Business℠ program. Companies will qualify for redemption benefits on a calendar-year basis, replacing the current rolling 12-month period. Once a company qualifies, benefits will remain active through the end of that calendar year and the entire following year—up to 24 months.

In addition, every dollar spent on eligible employee travel will count toward unlocking redemption benefits for the business. This includes travel booked under the company’s business account by nonregistered travelers, meaning the traveler does not need to be an AAdvantage member or a registered participant in the company’s AAdvantage Business account.
