Airlines issue waivers as two storms cross the U.S. with rain, snow, ice, & gusty winds

According to the National Weather Service, two storm systems are set to impact nearly half the nation this week causing the airlines to issue travel waivers ahead of the storms.

The first front developing in the Rocky Mountains is predicted to drop heavy snow in Nebraska/Kansas on Monday, January 25th before it pushes through the Plains states, eventually moving into parts of PA, NY, MA, and RI later in the week.

The second storm is moving southward out of Northern California and is forecast to bring at least a foot of snow to the Sierra Nevada mountains and rainfall to other parts of the state. The snowfall is also forecast to cover parts of Arizona and Colorado.  A live map is available here.
