Air Canada to initiate new carry-on bag process starting May 25; fees may be incurred

Beginning on May 25 at Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) and expanding quickly, Air Canada will be monitoring carry-on bags at check-in and security checkpoints to confirm that such meets Air Canada's size dimension requirements.    Carry-ons that meet approved dimensions will be tagged advising such; carry-ons that don't meet the approved dimensions will be stopped at security and the traveler will be sent back to the Air Canada check-in counter to check their bag while incurring standard checked bag fees.

Air Canada's carry-on policy allows customers to bring onboard one standard article and one personal article.   Approved carry-on dimensions for each are:

*   Standard article: 9 x 15.5 x 21.5 inches, including handles and wheels

*   Personal article: 6 x 13 x 17 inches
